My D700 arrived today. When the battery had finished charging the kids were napping… so what to use as the subject for my first picture? The Predecessor. Here is DAN_0001.jpg, the first picture taken with my D700:

I turned the tables and took a few of the new kid on the block:

I don’t care if it means I’m a geek for saying so: I love the look of this 85mm lens!

I’m currently looking for a buyer for my Canon 30D, the battery grip and my EF 50mm f/1.4 USM.

I also ordered my D700 as an extremely expensive kit (with big discounts) and plan on selling some or all of the lenses and purchasing cheaper alternatives. So sitting in my front room unopened are the following:
Nikon Nikkor 24-70 f/2.8 
Nikon Nikkor 70-200 f/2.8 VR II
Nikon Nikkor 16-35 f/4 VR
Epson R1900 - photo printer

I’m trying to get a little less than retail for them spread the word if you know anyone who wants top-of-the-line Nikon glass at a discount.
