What You’ll Need
- Patties:
- 3 pounds ground turkey
- 1/4 cup seasoned bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup finely diced onion
- 2 egg whites, lightly beaten
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh CILANTRO
- 1 clove garlic, peeled and minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 pinch of cayenne pepper
Burgers:
- 12 whole wheat buns
- sliced red onion
- Jack or Pepper Jack cheese
- Baby Spinach
- Ketchup
- Mayonaise
- Chipotle Ranch (optional)
Directions
- 1. Mix ingredients in large bowl and form 12 patties.
2. Cook them. You can cook them in a skillet or do like I do and barbecue them. Yesterday I froze our patties to keep them together better for the barbecue. They are still pretty fragile but they all stayed together well enough.
3. Prepare buns by toasting them, add ketchup, mayonnaise, sliced red onion, spinach, and chipotle ranch.
4. Put the cheese on the patty and make the burger.
I really like how it tastes with ketchup so often I’ll have a dollop of ketchup on my plate for dipping.
